Houston, TX—Atec, Inc. acquires Vital Link, Inc. (Sealy, TX)  including Vital Link Europe Ltd (Camberley, UK).

Atec, Inc. is excited to announce its acquisition of Vital Link, Inc. Headquartered on 30 acres near Sealy, Texas, Vital Link is the premier company in military engine test enclosures worldwide. Key officers and employees are committed to remain as Vital Link moves forward without interruption as part of the Atec group of companies. Vital Link, Inc. will remain a fully functioning corporation.

For years, mutual customers and industry players have remarked about the apparent fit of Vital Link and Atec. Atec is extremely proud to welcome Vital Link, Inc., to its corporate family. As a proven international pacesetter in aeroengine support projects, don’t look for changes in people or business at Vital Link. Customers can instead look for increased common resources now available to better address the challenges at Vital Link, Celtech, Hager and Atec in 2017 and beyond. “Vital Link makes the Atec companies better!”, commented Howard Lederer, Atec’s Chairman.

In the 1990s, Atec first began working with Vital Link for fabrication and erection services on hush house projects. Jim Sitko and John Copeland had been Bob Lucas’ main operatives in building hush houses at ASE Texas. When that played out, Sitko started J4/Vital Link with Debbie Ashorn and Dahlen Gardner at his side. Today, Guy Sessions, John Gunnels, AC Kujawa and Rodney deMontigny have helped Sitko build Vital Link into the world’s pre-eminent military hush house producer and maintainer. Over one hundred personnel staff their respected fabrication, management and field teams headquartered at their 30 acre Sealy/W. Houston plant on Interstate 10.

“We can now offer our customers the best in test stands from Celtech, machining from Hager, systems & engineering from Atec and now enclosures, field services & fabrication from Vital Link. Our combined field team resources for maintenance, training, installation and construction are unexcelled. No aeroengine support project is out of our reach. We now have 250,000 square feet of buildings on 50 acres at 6 locations. Customers come first at all of our companies, and we look forward to servicing them better with Vital Link on our team,” said Paul Fenley, Atec President.

“Vital Link is a successful front line company, that will strengthen our capabilities and offerings. Jim Sitko has built a fabulous outfit here, and we are proud to add him to Atec’s board of directors, and Vital Link to our corporate family,” remarked Atec Chairman, Howard Lederer.  “The outlook for Vital Link is favorable, and now working with Celtech, Hager and Atec, our customers are offered a stronger, one-stop engine support provider,” Lederer continued.

“The shareholder/officer group at Vital Link was confronted with large opportunities and decided to pursue the next stage of growth as part of the booming Atec team,” commented Jim Sitko, Vital Link President. “This merger will be great for our employees, as Atec appreciates our managers, field and fabrication expertise, strong backlog and EurAsian presence, and we will operate with significant independence,” added Sitko.

This is Atec’s third acquisition in three years. As the United States’ oldest test cell company, Atec is continuing its focus on excellence in aerospace and energy.
