Project Joy and Hope, an organization chaired by Atec CEO Howard Lederer that strives to support families of children with life-limiting illnesses, teamed up with MedCare Pediatric Group. Together, these two organizations hosted the Trees for Tots event on Sunday.
Now in its 9th year, Trees for Tots is a great event where families with special needs children are given Christmas trees –as well as ornaments and Christmas lights.
For this event, 100 trees were donated and some eager Atec volunteers were on the scene to help out! The beautifully trimmed trees ranged in size from 3-foot “babies” to room-filling 7-footers.
By 2pm, the small MedCare parking lot on South Kirkwood Rd had two lengthy columns of cars waiting for their trees. Volunteers helped families pick out the size and then tied the tree to the roof of their cars.
All in all, the Trees for Tots event made for a Sunday Funday like no other. As always, Atec is proud of its commitment to the local community and wishes to continue lasting friendships with great organizations such as MedCare. Happy holidays!
